US Blacklists Artan Grubi and Judge Enver Bexheti Over Corruption Allegations

The United States State Department has officially blacklisted Artan Grubi, the former Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia, citing his involvement in corruption.
In addition to Grubi, Enver Bexheti, a judge at the Court of Appeal in North Macedonia, has also been added to the blacklist. Both individuals are accused of accepting bribes to compromise judicial processes, including the criminal case against Sasho Mijallkov, the former director of the Security Directorate in North Macedonia.
Arben Taravari, leader of the Alliance for Albanians and a member of the VLEN coalition, responded to the announcement with a statement on Facebook. “I have news for those of Tenda: Artan Grubi was just declared Persona Non Grata by the United States of America!” he wrote.
The United States Embassy in North Macedonia reaffirmed its commitment to fighting corruption, emphasizing that it will continue to identify and address individuals whose actions erode democratic institutions and public trust.
